Dr. Deborah Brennan, current Associate Principal at Stony Point High School (10-12), has been selected to lead the district's 10th middle school. Cpl. Robert P. Hernandez Middle School is currently operating as the Stony Point 9th Grade Center which will revert to a middle school in August 2010 upon the opening of Cedar Ridge High School.
Dr. Brennan is a confident and passionate educator who values partnerships with parents, students, staff and community members. She believes in the importance of working together as a team to ensure student success. She continually seeks appropriate, timely, research-based professional development for herself and for her staff.
“Dr. Brennan has a strong belief that all students can learn and be successful,” said Superintendent Dr. Jesús H. Chávez. “She is a proven instructional leader who believes in fostering a student-centered school culture and climate. Dr. Brennan has a thorough understanding of curriculum alignment and instructional best practices.”
Prior to her experience at Stony Point High School, Dr. Brennan served as an administrator in Colorado. She has eleven years teaching experience at both the middle and high school level. She has a Doctorate in Special Education as well as a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Special Education from the University of Northern Colorado. Dr. Brennan also has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. In addition, she has Texas certification in the areas of Principal, Secondary English, Secondary History, Secondary Social Studies Composite, and Gifted and Talented (6-12).

Reunión con la Comunidad en Marzo
Nuevo Horario de Reuniones de la Asociación de Padres y Maestros (PTA)
El Consejo de PTA del Distrito Escolar de Round Rock invita a aquellos padres de familia, maestros y personal de las escuelas nuevas a que asistan a las reuniones de organización de PTA para cada uno de las escuelas que abrirán sus puestas en el año escolar 2010-2011. Cada una de estas reuniones discutirá distintos puntos y por lo tanto su participación es importante en ambas reuniones. En la primera reunión, se hablará sobre oportunidades de voluntariado en los comités de estatutos (Bylaws) y nominación en caso existan por lo menos 20 voluntarios que deseen formar una asociación de padres y maestros. Estos comités tendrán dos semanas para trabajar en un plan de actividades durante la segunda reunión. En la segunda reunión, el comité de estatutos será adoptado y los miembros tendrán la oportunidad de formar el PTA y pagar las cuotas. Finalmente, los oficiales serán electos y el nuevo presidente podrá dirigir unas palabras.

Reunión Informativa para Padres de Familia
Con el objetivo de comenzar a reunirnos con los padres de familia y escuchar sus preocupaciones y expectativas de nuestra escuela, realizaremos una reunión en el edificio de la futura Escuela Secundaria Hernández (actualmente Centro de 9no Grado Stony Point) el día18 de febrero a las 7:00 PM.
Los padres tendrán la oportunidad de dar su opinión en cuanto a los colores de la escuela y la elección de mascota, así como también hacer preguntas sobre las hojas de selección de clases para el próximo año.
Acompáñenos se servirá un refrigerio.
